Dayuhan

Branding, Student Work

Project Information

Dayuhan is a mock conference that aims to connect Canadian and Filipino cultures. The conference hopes to bridge both cultures to strengthen their relationship. Dayuhan means foreigner or foreign in Tagalog (Filipino dialect), the logo and identity were inspired by the rice terraces in the Philippines. Rice is a material culture that best represents the Philippines to me.

Inspired by the shapes of the rice terraces in the Philippines I created a typeface that mimics its shape. I then spelled “dayuhan” and assembled all the letter forms to create the logo. The colours are based on the Philippine flag.

This project was designed during the DES394 class at the University of Alberta
